Outsourced Energy Management for Businesses

CEC provides outsourced energy management for businesses, helping you understand energy use, check system performance and turn findings into practical actions.

Level 1 — Energy Baseline Review

A defined review with recommendations to help your business decide what to do next.

  • • Review the electricity bills and energy information you provide.• Review available half-hourly meter data, site consumption and tariffs.• Record the site’s energy assets, such as solar PV, batteries, EV charging and electric heating.• Review available solar and battery monitoring data.• Identify unusual usage, performance concerns and potential improvement opportunities.• Provide a written report with prioritised recommendations and estimated costs, savings or payback where the available information supports an estimate.• Present the findings in a review meeting.• This is a one-off review and does not include ongoing monitoring or implementation of the recommendations.

Level 2 — Ongoing Energy Performance Management

Regular oversight for a business that wants continued monitoring and support.

  • • Review agreed energy bills, meter data and system information on a regular basis.
    • Monitor available solar PV and battery data for alarms, interruptions and unusual performance.
    • Provide regular reports on energy use, system performance and actions requiring attention.
    • Maintain an action list showing recommendations, responsibilities and progress.
    • Review tariffs and energy costs using the information supplied by the client.
    • Hold scheduled review meetings to discuss performance, open actions and new opportunities.
    • Help investigate system issues and coordinate agreed follow-up with the client’s maintenance provider or installer.

Level 3 — Outsourced Energy Manager

A broader, ongoing role for businesses seeking an external energy lead, including multi-site organisations.

  • • Provide a named CEC contact for agreed energy-management matters.
    • Review energy use, bills, tariffs and energy assets across the agreed sites.
    • Maintain a portfolio view of consumption, costs, generation, imports and exports where suitable data is available.
    • Prepare regular management reports and scheduled reviews with the client’s facilities, finance or leadership team.
    • Develop and maintain a prioritised energy action plan.
    • Assess proposed projects such as solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and electrified heating, with assumptions and estimated financial impacts clearly stated.
    • Support energy-budget planning and supplier or tariff reviews using the information available.
    • Help coordinate agreed actions with site teams, installers and other contractors, and track progress.
    • Review outcomes and update the action plan as site needs change.

How we agree the right level of support

The scope is agreed around the number of sites, available data, reporting needs and level of support required. CEC will confirm what information and access are needed before work begins. Any site visits, repairs, equipment, specialist surveys or project delivery will be agreed separately.

Energy and financial estimates depend on the quality of the information available, site operating patterns and agreed tariff assumptions. They are estimates, not guaranteed savings.
